Türkiye and Africa 2025: Building the Next Corridor of Global Prosperity

The Türkiye Africa Business and Economic Forum held in Istanbul on 16 and 17 October 2025 represented more than another international business gathering. It reflected a broader transformation taking place across the Global South and highlighted the growing importance of economic partnerships built around trade, investment, infrastructure, technology, and shared prosperity.

For those of us engaged in economic diplomacy and cross border investment, the forum offered an important glimpse into the future of international cooperation. Türkiye’s unique position between Europe, Asia, and Africa gives it the potential to serve as a strategic bridge connecting markets, capital, technology, and talent across multiple regions.

A Partnership Built on Shared Potential

Türkiye and Africa share an important characteristic: resilience.

Both have navigated significant economic and political challenges while continuing to pursue growth, development, and greater international influence.

The forum brought together more than 3,000 participants from 54 African nations, including government representatives, business leaders, investors, and industry experts. Discussions covered some of the sectors that will define the next generation of economic development, including infrastructure, digital transformation, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and sustainable development.

The message emerging from these conversations was clear. The future of global prosperity will increasingly depend on partnerships between emerging markets and the ability of nations to build value together.

Türkiye’s Strategic Position

Türkiye occupies a unique geographic and economic position.

Its connections to Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, combined with its manufacturing capabilities, logistics infrastructure, technology ecosystem, and growing international business networks, make it a natural platform for international investment.

Africa, meanwhile, represents one of the world’s most promising growth regions, with abundant natural resources, a rapidly expanding population, significant human capital, and increasingly important consumer markets.

When these strengths are combined, the potential is enormous.

Türkiye can provide access to technology, manufacturing expertise, logistics, finance, and international markets, while African economies offer opportunities across natural resources, infrastructure, agriculture, renewable energy, consumer markets, and emerging industries.

Together, they can form a powerful investment corridor.

Lessons for Pakistan and Türkiye

As the Founder and President of the Pakistan Türkiye Investment & Development Council (PTIDC), I view the Türkiye Africa model as an important example for Pakistan.

Pakistan, Türkiye, and Africa each possess unique economic strengths. By connecting these markets through structured investment platforms and institutional partnerships, we can create a broader ecosystem of cooperation across the Global South.

The objective should not simply be to increase bilateral trade.

It should be to build corridors of trust, investment, technology, and opportunity.

At PTIDC, our vision is to contribute toward this type of economic connectivity by bringing together governments, investors, corporations, entrepreneurs, and institutions.

Our ambition includes creating platforms such as the PTIDC Economic and Investment Forum, where stakeholders from Pakistan, Türkiye, Africa, and other emerging markets can explore practical opportunities for cooperation.

New Opportunities for Global Investors

The growing Türkiye Africa relationship also creates significant opportunities for international investors.

Potential areas include:

Real Estate: Strategic property and urban development opportunities across growing markets.

Renewable Energy: Solar, wind, infrastructure, and sustainable energy projects.

Logistics and Infrastructure: Ports, transportation networks, industrial zones, and supply chain development.

Agriculture: Modern farming, food processing, irrigation, and agricultural technology.

Technology: Digital infrastructure, fintech, telecommunications, and emerging technologies.

International Mobility: Opportunities connected to global investment, residency, and citizenship strategies.

For high net worth individuals, family offices, institutions, and strategic investors, these emerging corridors can provide opportunities for diversification while offering exposure to some of the world’s fastest developing markets.

Economic Diplomacy in Action

Economic diplomacy is no longer limited to government meetings and formal agreements.

It is increasingly taking place through business partnerships, investment projects, joint ventures, technology exchanges, and relationships between entrepreneurs.

Every successful investment can create employment.

Every joint venture can transfer knowledge.

Every business partnership can strengthen relationships between nations.

And every meaningful collaboration can contribute to a more interconnected global economy.

As someone working at the intersection of investment and diplomacy, I believe this is where the future lies.

Building a More Connected Global South

The Türkiye Africa partnership demonstrates what becomes possible when emerging economies move beyond traditional boundaries and begin building interconnected economic ecosystems.

The opportunity for Pakistan, Türkiye, and Africa is even greater when viewed collectively.

Our shared future can be built around trade, investment, infrastructure, technology, innovation, and human capital.

The objective is not to replace one global power structure with another.

It is to create a world where emerging economies have greater capacity to shape their own economic destinies.

Looking Ahead

The Türkiye Africa Business and Economic Forum was a reminder that the next generation of global growth will be built through collaboration.

For Türkiye, Africa represents a major strategic opportunity.

For Africa, Türkiye provides an important gateway to European, Asian, and Middle Eastern markets.

For Pakistan, the emerging model offers valuable lessons about how economic diplomacy can connect multiple regions and create new corridors of investment and prosperity.

As a Peace Ambassador of Türkiye and Pakistan, I see this journey as more than business.

It is about building relationships between nations through trust, commerce, and shared opportunity.

The future belongs to those willing to build bridges rather than walls.

The next great corridors of global prosperity will not simply connect countries. They will connect people, capital, ideas, and ambitions.

And that future is already being built.
